So, now that you have made the important decision about which kind of heating system to go for and which kind of flooring you want in your home, you will want to know where you can get the systems to match. Underfloor heating mats for wood floors are not always easy to find, so let us help you out.
Thankfully, there are a few options to choose from:
Allbrite offers two kinds of its underfloor heating mats for wood floors. The flat ribbon heating system fits right under the wood floors without the need for any additional subfloor preparation. It is one of the only systems which is capable of working as a primary heat source without the need for screeds. The ribbon underfloor heating mats for wood floors are different from Allbrite’s other ribbon mats. The ribbons are wider, and the spaces narrower, meaning that a greater surface area can be covered at lower running temperatures. The working temperature of the ribbon system can be as low as 25 degrees C, ensuring that your wood floors don’t suffer any damage from the heat source.
Allbrite’s second option is its carbon underfloor heating system. It is designed to be used underneath laminate flooring or engineered board, but can be fitted beneath carpet if it is used with one of their HeatPak boards. This system has a number of benefits including its super slim dimensions (it is less than 1mm thick); its energy efficiency of 150W/m2; its fast warming time of 5 minutes; and the easiness of installation.
Cosyfloor Ecomat underfloor heating mats for wood floors will reach temperatures of 27-30 degrees C. The system is able to heat up within half an hour and will reach its optimum operating temperature in 1 – 1 1/2 hours.
Other Cosyfloor systesm can be used with all kinds of floor coverings, so if you decide to change you flooring in future your underfloor heating is safe to stay.
Nuheat’s standard mats are designed to suit most room layouts. They are 1/8″ thick and very easily fitted. The systems work efficiently and can be controlled using various programmable or non-programmable thermostats. The mats can be fitted together or used separately, meaning that the size of room you want to heat is really of no consequence. Any room will accommodate for theses underfloor heating mats, and they can be fitted safely beneath laminated and engineered wood floors without worrying about the effects of the heat on the floor covering.
